Kincluny Development Trust - Bringing you a Better Way to live

Social Enterprise

KinclunyCHAP Homes recognises there is a great deal more to housing than the design of a building and infrastructure. CHAP Homes also recognises that people look for a sense of belonging and meaning to where they live as well as access to good community facilities and amenities. Kincluny Village encapsulates all of this.

In partnership with other agencies, CHAP Homes has been working to develop Kincluny Village and at the heart of the proposals being put forward for this new community will be a community owned social enterprise. This is not simply an innovative concept, but very timely, in terms of sustainability, community empowerment and development.

The purpose of the social enterprise is to become an engaging focal point for the development of a vibrant new community in Lower Deeside. Its aim will be to promote the sustainable development of Kincluny Village, from the outset, for the benefit of its residents, community groups and businesses.

In the 21st century communities need to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead. They need to think about how they become more self-sufficient, how they move about, how they provide energy and food, how they provide workspaces for people who can fix things, how we entertain ourselves and look after each other. In other words, how we create a resilient community.

To help achieve this CHAP Homes commissioned a report to research and comment on the proposed development of a social enterprise trust that would support Park Village.
